THE STORY

Hanged Empress is the child of the women of my family line, and the story of how creativity brought together the deep contradictions of my heritage and my identity. It is a love letter to my mother and all the mothers before me. I grew up immersed in contradictions that I struggled to integrate. Religion lived side by side with mysticism and witchcraft. My mother, a deeply spiritual Italian woman, blended Catholic rites with folklore and rituals. She would walk through rooms with incense to cleanse malocchio (the evil eye), and Giorno dei Morti (the Day of the Dead) was bigger than Christmas. Her world was rich with superstition and unseen meanings, perceptible only with careful attention, and often only to her. My matriarchal line was devoted to craft. My grandmother and her five sisters were seamstresses who made garments for priests. But creativity and innovation were just as sacred as tradition. We treasured family crochet and knitwear alongside discarded furniture and fabrics my mother and I found on the streets, restoring them to let them tell new stories.

My culture rigidly defined gender while my identity evolved as a trans, non-binary person. Aesthetics became my vital creative practice, a daily ritual of communion with myself and my intentions.  London became the place where the contradictions of my upbringing found their voice. In this city, I discovered the power of reinvention, the freedom to reimagine tradition, to bend and reshape it until it reflected my own truth. In queer and creative communities, I found a mirror for my defiance and my tenderness, a space where style was both armour and invitation. Here, heritage met raw modernity; reverence for craft collided with the thrill of experimentation. London sharpened my aesthetic into a language of contradictions, rooted yet fluid, nostalgic yet entirely of the now.

That thread had been with me all along. Acquiring clothes was always about feelings, transformation and communion. Some pieces were gifted by friends and family, others found in flea markets, and some lovingly made by my mother or grandmother from repurposed fabrics or knitted. Through this, I learned the true meaning of curation, how selecting and acquiring garments was almost a ritual, an act of preservation and reinvention at the same time. Each conflict, each contrast, holds a story. The alchemy is in curating these elements of who you are into a unique, defiant aesthetic, something that, like you, is incomplete yet whole, ever-changing yet deeply rooted. Style can become an ever-evolving declaration that we are here, we are unashamedly ourselves, and we undeniably belong.

BY IT THE WORLD FLOWED FORTH FROM IT ENDLESS WONDERS STILL ARE BORNE THE MEANS OF MANIFESTING WHICH ARE HERE GIVEN

Hanged Empress is the alchemy of aesthetics. We merge styles, embrace juxtaposition, and embody contrasts. Hanged Empress revels in the tension between heritage and identity, between tradition and radical self-expression. Tastefully expressing our bodies, we navigate sensuality and romance, carving nostalgia with the cutting edge. Aesthetic becomes a language, an undeniably distinctive unveiling of who we are. Hanged Empress empowers you to manifest your highest self and purpose.

AS ALL THINGS ARE ONE BY ONE’S CONTEMPLATION COME ALL MIRACLES BY ADAPTATION

We embrace the daily ritual of dressing as a sacred time of contemplation and manifestation. A ritual that extends beyond adorning the physical self. An alchemical practice, a deeply personal spell you cast upon yourself, embodying and transmitting your emotions and intentions into each garment. Each piece becomes a vessel of revelation, a means of communicating your inner essence to the outer world.
Sanctify the now. Choose with intention. Wear with devotion.

To wear Hanged Empress is to hold both memory and intention. Like heirlooms, our pieces carry the weight of where we have been; like talismans, they point towards where we are going. They are garments that could have lived other lives, charged with purpose for the future. Designed to be passed on between generations, traded among friends, or inherited by chosen family, each piece gathers new meanings with every wearer while remaining deeply personal. Built with purpose, made to be worn, cared for and cherished, each one is a keeper of stories, a piece to live with you and live on beyond you.
