My living room embroidered vest
Dried flowers, old rugs, dinner placemat, stitched into one.
Entirely handmade, this wool vest is built stitch by stitch, bead by bead, transforming memory into textile. Its motifs are drawn from a photograph of flowers once gifted and left to dry, their forms reimagined through embroidery and beading. Surrounding them, patterns recall the woven rugs of my home, while the checkered beadwork quietly echoes the placemat where I eat each day.
Layered embroidery, beadwork, and wool fringe give the surface depth and movement, creating a piece that feels both ornamental and intimate.
An expressive heirloom as much as a garment, the vest carries fragments of everyday life into something lasting.
Made in India.
