My life has been a series of chapters battling with discrimination and it's a daily struggle having to choose between authenticity and safety. In a society where my gender expression makes me a target, a consequence of me being non conforming, in-between and ambiguous.
One's biological sex doesn't have to be correlated to the way one decides to express their gender through how they act or what they wear. That it is something I have to reiterate to people daily. But how can I blame these people when we live in a society where feminine and masculine are the dominant terms used to categorise all styles of expression.
Leaving the traditionalist and static ideologies within Rome I moved to London which ultimately led to the discovery of my identity. Within London's queer scene and club culture, I found a community which celebrates diversity and pushed me to live my true self When people experiencing oppression find one another and unite, that is when history is made. Fluid fashion is about offering people the tools for their expression.
